How to Make Latex Clothes

When it comes to provocative attire, latex clothes are the hottest thing around. They come in dozens of different colors and thicknesses, and you can create full-body jumpsuits, boots, skirts and anything else you can imagine. If you want to make latex clothes, you need to have a little bit of creativity and a whole lot of patience. With practice, you'll have some pieces you can really be proud of.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:
Pattern
Latex sheeting
Craft knife
Scissors
Thinner
Solvent-based adhesive
Plastic applicator
Small roller
Various trims (non-metal)
Latex polish
Talcum powder
Large powder brush
Step 1Find a design. This is perhaps the hardest step. In the beginning, you might want to copy the designs of other garments that you see in the stores and online, to get a feel for the latex. Eventually, though, you'll probably start experimenting with different cuts and patterns.

Step 2: Prepare your work surface. Gather all of your materials and lay them out on a large, flat work surface. Since the glue takes a while to dry, you need to create your pieces somewhere they won't be disturbed for several days.

Step 3: Cut out the latex. Using scissors and a craft knife, trace and cut the pieces you need to create your clothing item. Make sure to cut them a bit larger than the pattern to give yourself seam allowances.

Step 4: Glue the pieces together. Prepare the surface with the thinner, then begin applying the solvent-based adhesive with your plastic applicator. Piece the garment together, using the small roller to smooth out the seams as you work. You may want to create the piece in sections, allowing the glue to dry between sessions.

Step 5: Put the finishing touches on your garment, including any trim you've chosen. You have to understand a little bit about how latex clothing works. Before wearing it, you need to apply a latex polish to the outside to create a shiny, wet look. Also dust talcum powder on the inside of the garment to make it easier to wear.
