The very attractive, yet creepy man.

Crispin's book "Rat Catcher"

Most alternative people I have met at one point have gone through a "goth phase". Its extremely common and I remember mine with an embarrassed fondness.

Oh the platform shoes, bondage pants, ties, rubber bracelets and giant black wardrobe..... I wish I hadn't worn you...

I decided to feature Crispin Glover because I'm trying to decide if I want to make this a strictly men's fashion blog or not. That and I find him to be insanely attractive.

Maybe its his strange hair cut, the creepy way he walks or his suave alterna-wardrobe.... I don't know.

All I do know is that if I had a chance to bone him, I would leap at it. Viciously.

He is the perfect example of a graceful transition from being a goth kid to being a goth man. Because somehow he manages to create that same unnerving feeling that goth people love to give off, but without looking so cliché or wearing typical goth fare( PVC, eyeliner, spikes, etc).

His look has been shifting slightly for years, but a few things have stayed the same and they really work for him.

1. His suits.

He is a perpetual black suit wearer. This makes him look slightly old fashioned, just because people are so informal these days, and by contrast he looks very... stiff and dated. His suits also button up very high on his chest, a look that surfaced around the early 20's. That comes along with the allure of restrictiveness, which is something prized in the goth community. He seems to favor matte fabrics(wools and velvet) and sometimes wear double breasted suits that come with the same dated charm.

2. His hair.

Say what you want but I like Crispin's hair. Its so unusual to see anyone with a font part these days, but a man with one is even rarer. His hair is always very sleek, shiny, simple and masculine regardless the length. AND in case you didn't notice, he often appears without eyebrows. People without eyebrows are very striking and almost unnerving to look at because they are missing a critical component of expression. This is where he crosses the boundary of just strangely somber into alternatively dark.

Besides his look, he happens to be very awesome.

Janked from Wiki :

Glover has written between 15 and 20 books.[10] Oak-Mot and Rat Catching are featured prominently during his Big Slide Show presentation, and are presented as visual art as much as written art. He constructs the books by reusing old novels and other publications which have fallen into public domain due to their age (for example, Rat Catching was constructed from an 1896 book Studies in the Art of Rat Catching, and Oak-Mot was constructed from an 1868 novel of the same title). He rearranges text, blacks out certain standing passages, and adds his own prose (and sometimes images) into the margins and elsewhere, thus creating an entirely new story. Four of his books have been published so far, through his publishing company, Volcanic Eruptions. Other known titles include The Backward Swing and Round My House.

He also appeared most recently in TIM BURTON's Alice in Wonderland, as the Knave of Hearts (the bottom picture) and was very very smashing.

  3. Poor Crispin Glover! Just once I would like to see him play a good guy in a movie. Creepy people need love, too.
